“Phew!"

As Tracy walked out of First Union Bank, she was so glad that the mystery man who was wining and dining Norma Templeton was Joseph Carter and not Warren Copeland. She could feel her heart almost bursting out of her chest as she awaited Norma's response to her question. She just didn't know what she would have done if Norma had revealed it was Warren. She had burst out laughing when Norma had mentioned Joseph's name. She had to quickly check herself when she noticed the puzzled look on Norma's face and lie when Norma asked if she knew Joe. She hated lying. Was there something wrong with her she thought? Warren Copeland was having an effect on her even in his absence. She was surprised he hadn’t called after the other night. Maybe things were super busy at the police station. She couldn't remember the last time she had this much butterflies in her tummy.

Norma had made her sign a few documents which would give her the right to make withdrawals and pay in deposits when she wanted. She applauded Tracy for her contribution to Pastor Butler's initiative and said she had some ideas of how Union Bank could be a more vocal and supportive presence in town. The meeting ended with Tracy asking Norma to stop by In Season when she had the opportunity.

After changing into a more comfortable attire, she raced to In Season. If there was something Aunt Rose disliked, it was lateness. And lateness was something Tracy had been working on in the last few months. She knew her aunt extended some grace to her in that department as she made up for it in so many other ways. Still, if getting in at eleven a.m. would spare her a lecture from her aunt on the virtues of punctuality, she was willing to arrive at the shop out of breath but on time. When she walked into the shop, she quickly grabbed an apron and started attending to the customers. With Christmas just a few days away, it seemed there was a huge demand from customers to get the last bit of flower arrangements, Christmas trees, seasonal cards or accessory before the big day. After an hour of non-stop activity, the last customer paid for their item and left the shop.

"My, oh my! I've never known the shop to be that busy," Tiffany said, wiping a bead of sweat that was forming on her forehead.

"Not surprised," Aunt Rose replied. "It's always this way a few days before Christmas."

"Will it get worse?" Tiffany inquired.

"I don't know but I'll say cherish every spare moment you have."

"Roger that. I'm going to grab some water from the back. Would you guys like some?"

"Definitely," Aunt Rose said.

"Me too," Tracy bellowed as Tiffany walked away.

"How was your appointment at the bank?" Aunt Rose asked.

"It was okay. Thanks for giving me the time to do that," Tracy replied.

"Is Cheryl Martins still there?"

"Cheryl? Um... I didn't meet a Cheryl Martins. I was attended to by Norma Templeton.
